Wedding Bells & Rock Band

Want something different for your wedding? Charlotte and Dave found something new by tying their love for Rock Band into their wedding. After a beautiful ceremony at Bowdoin College where the couple attended school together, they held their reception at the Frontier Restaurant around the corner from the campus.

This weekend I had the chance to photograph Christine and Owen's beautiful Maine wedding. They were married at the Alamoosook Lakeside Inn located in Orland, Maine. Happy July 4th!

Everyone loves the chance to kick back and relax on our nation's birthday. This year I was privileged to photograph the wedding of Kaleigh & Matthew. Knowing that the couple was swept up in the events of their reception and were unable to view the slideshow of images I had running, I put together a slideshow that they can enjoy until their images are on their viewing site.

Their wedding was stunning (despite the threatening rain) and was thrill to photograph.

Getting A Break

Janet & Corey

In a perfect world, good things happen to good people who deserve a break! Janet and Corey went through a lot leading up to their beautiful wedding at Sunday River, and I was proud to capture their special day.

When the couple, the videographer and I went to the covered bridge to take some stunning shots, we came across a couple sitting in a mint condition MG Roadster. The couple, very sweet and kind-hearted, offered us the change to take pictures with their car! Their license plate could not have been more perfect! Married about ten years ago the couple had honeymooned in the car, so it had extra-special meaning. Janet and Corey could not have planned for something so special to come along.

Their pictures came out amazing! Janet and Corey had a fantastic day, and I'm proud to have been there to capture it's unique beauty.

Dancers Inc Portland Competition March 27th & 28th 2009

In case you are wondering where the dance pictures are, they are coming, I promise! We apologize to everyone who wasn't able to view their pictures this weekend because our back up hard drives failed (yes, we lost two of them within 2 hours...)!

Once they are uploaded to the Internet, we will offer 5x7 prints at the show discount of $10 per print for the first week. Just a reminder that we will also be offering images on CD though the online event. You can get up to 5 images on CD for $35! I hope to have the photos up by Friday afternoon at the latest.

MHS Ski-A-Thon

For the last five years, Life's Big Events has been proud to be a part of the Maine Handicapped Skiing Ski-A-Thon. Each year we gather images from photographers on the slopes as well as take a few snapshots of our own and put together a slideshow for the beinning of their awards cermony. This year the MHS Ski-A-Thon raised over $250,000! They have accomplished a great feat given the current tough economy. We're proud to support such a fantastic foundation that provides services to those who would not be able to enjoy life in the same way without them. I hope that we can continue to support them in the upcoming years! Next year will be the 25th Ski-A-Thon, and I can't wait to see how it comes together!

Portrait Session of the Month

In the office we have been brainstorming about special portrait sessions we can offer each month. Next month (April) will be our Easter Bonnet Special:

APRIL: EASTER BONNET SPECIAL $99 Photo, $199 Photo & Video
Show off your style – whether it’s comical or chic, elegant or outlandish. Come in anytime in April with your family, your friends, your pet, or all by yourself, but wear your best hat(s), for a portrait session that celebrates the return of warm weather and the Easter season. Session includes an 11x14 print and a dozen chocolate truffles. Portraits will be available online, all other prints and images can be purchased for an additional cost. Video sessions will come with a three minute video that can be shared with family members online.

This session is great for young children, and a great memory to share with whole families!

Cheesecake!

Yesterday Melissa and I photographed cheesecake. If you're a fan of cheesecake, these were some of the ultimate delicious, beautiful cheesecakes found right here in Maine. Located in the Portland area, Bella Cheesecakes are made by Owner and Head Baker Anthony Dominicus. From the over thirty flavors that he makes, each one is unique and bound to make your mouth water. There are so many ways to connect with the outside world these days. The Internet has forever changed the way ordinary people go about creating extraordinary lives. In attempt to catch up with the world, I've been put in charge of blogging for Life's Big Events. I've been a photographer with Life's Big Events for 3 1/2 years, and I've enjoyed photographing more than 60 weddings as an assistant for Melissa, as well as several as a lead photographer. This year's wedding season is fast coming upon us and from this blog I hope that our brides, families, seniors and the rest of our adorable clients can catch up with us and stay connected!
